Greetings, Fellow Toastmasters of District 77!
I have a question: “What season are you in?”
As many prepare for the holiday season, I would ask that you think about what season in your life you are actually in right now?
Those who have not read “Jim Rohn and the Four Seasons of Life” are an excellent book to help you figure out what season you’re in life.
The four seasons to life are: (1.) Winter, (2.) Spring, (3.) Summer, (4.) Fall/Autumn.
I believe it essential to recognize what season you’re in as you prepare to enter a new year and take inventory of your life, just as I continue to do daily.
Nevertheless, I agree with the author Jim Rohn as he describes each season as “a point in your life through which you travel many times. Both physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.”
There are two words that I would like you to think about in the process, which is “Complacency and Compliant.”
Merriam’s Webster Dictionary defines complacency as a feeling of smug or uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one’s achievements.
Whereas, “Compliant” is defined as being inclined to agree with others or obey rules, especially to an excessive degree; acquiescent.
Have you been either operating under “Complacency or being Compliant?”
Has anyone witnessed others saying how the Pandemic has affected their habits and lives, and their motivation is at an all-time low?
As you reflect on your life season, you should know that you don’t have to go it alone. You can choose between being “Complacency and Compliant.”
Many of us have lost loved ones over the last 18 months, while others bring new life into this world.
I leave you two quotes to think about: “Be aware of what season you are in and give yourself the grace to be there.” — Kristen Dalton
“There is purpose in your season of waiting.” — Megan Smalley
