Hunting The Good Stuff

Greetings, Fellow Toastmasters of District 77!

There is something special about November, with many Outlet Stores, Malls, Department Stores, and even Supermarkets preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I’m excited about the holidays and the opportunities to have dinner with family and friends.  We should all be “hunting the good stuff” in our lives and counting our blessings!

As you take personal inventory of your lives, I’m doing the same.  Although I started the year off with foot surgery and June with a total hip replacement on my left side, I’m amazed at the individuals that have taken the same journey as I.  Some were younger and some older; nevertheless, 18 months ago, elective surgery was a case-by-case decision at most hospitals.

I thought that I would share with you just one example of “hunting the good stuff” in our lives and counting our blessings!

I know many are “hunting the good stuff” in their lives and counting blessings in my circle of influence as I read their stories on Facebook.

I challenge you to smile more and enjoy life by not worrying about things you can’t change. The Author Roy T. Bennett reminds me, The Light in the Heart as he say’s “Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”

The other one that I will close with by Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart, is “Live the Life of Your Dreams: Be brave enough to live the life of your dreams according to your vision and purpose instead of the expectations and opinions of others.”
