As many of our clubs prepare for new members for the upcoming year, let me ask you this “what’s your message” that you want all to know?
We have all had the pleasure of having our Spring District 77 Conference in which approximately 109 Toastmasters participated; therefore, congratulations.
Then on May 2, 2021, District 77 held its District Council Meeting. I was honored to provide an Inspirational Message to about 50 District Officers, including the Presidents and Vice Presidents of Education for various Toastmasters Clubs.
Our International Director, DTM Roy Ganga, then installed our District 77 Leadership for the upcoming year, with DTM Wanda Spillers receiving accolades for her service during her tenure as our District 77 Director.

DTM Wanda Spillers will relinquish her duties as our District Director on 1 July 2021 to DTM Monica Tucker. Each of these DTMs has a specific message. DTM Wanda Spillers served her term under the pandemic as DTM Monica Tucker is planning on breaking through the pandemic with more social interaction.
Nevertheless, we all will have a message in the upcoming months about how we want our clubs to operate, be it hybrid, virtual, or in-person.
One word that comes to mind is “Resilient,” as a message we all must give each other.
As I listened very closely with the various reports given during the District Council Meeting held on May 2, 2021, I found out we are losing various Toastmasters clubs, with some not being as “Resilient” as others.
Therefore, their message is one of defeat and not of Victory!
Our success is largely determined by the message we send by not giving up and being “Resilient.”
As we turn the corner on closing out this term that ends on 30 June 2021, I challenge all to have a message of hope, action, and grit that will take you beyond expectations.
As long as we are trying, that is a message of hope.
Woodrow Wilson says, “I would rather lose in a cause that will someday win than win in a cause that will someday lose!”
Therefore, you must know, “The most dangerous moment comes with victory.” Napoleon Bonaparte
Until the next time be well!
