Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:
I bring extensive experience in leadership development, adult learning, facilitation, and organizational effectiveness. Professionally, I design and deliver training programs under my brand (E. Renee Coaching, LLC) that build communication skills, confidence, and leadership capacity. As a corporate trainer with Pryor Learning Solutions, I deliver programs that align with the disciplines listed above and group learning solutions, such as Foundations of Project Management. My work requires engaging diverse audiences, supporting individuals at different stages of growth, and creating environments where people feel encouraged to stretch and succeed. This experience aligns well with supporting clubs, mentoring leaders, and advancing the district mission.
What experience do you have in strategic planning?
My experience in strategic planning includes goal setting, action planning, timeline development, and progress tracking. I regularly work with short- and long-term plans, ensuring objectives are clear, measurable, and aligned with organizational priorities. In former corporate positions I created and implemented procedures that allowed faster implementation to meet critical needs.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?
I have experience managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and making fiscally responsible decisions to support organizational goals. Stewardship, transparency, and aligning financial resources with mission-driven priorities are key to promoting a healthy organization. This experience was gained in former corporate positions and is practiced within my entrepreneurial pursuits.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?
I develop and document procedures to improve clarity, consistency, and efficiency. This includes creating repeatable processes, simplifying workflows, and ensuring team members understand expectations and responsibilities.
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
Effective leadership is rooted in service, communication, accountability, and humility. Leaders are most successful when they actively listen, set clear expectations, and empower others to lead and excel. Consistency in leadership builds trust and camaraderie. A willingness to learn continuously enables growth and excellence.
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
I want to serve as a District leader because I believe strongly in the Toastmasters mission and its impact on personal and professional growth. Serving at the District level allows me to contribute beyond my own club, support leaders across the District, and help create strong, supportive environments where members can thrive and grow with confidence.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
Major objectives are to support clubs in upholding the mission statement, developing effective leaders, enhancing club meetings, and ensuring continued growth. I would work to achieve these objectives by supporting club quality, mentoring leaders and members, encouraging collaboration, and aligning District goals with the needs of the clubs and members.
