Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:

My professional experience and academic background position me to lead effectively as a District Director during periods of strategic change. At the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturer, I led two information technology teams through enterprise-level transformations impacting global operations, and during my service in the United States Air Force, I directed a comparable large-scale initiative under demanding conditions. These experiences demonstrate my ability to set strategic direction, lead with clarity and resilience, align diverse stakeholders, and consistently deliver results in complex, evolving environments—capabilities essential to guiding district success and advancing the mission of Toastmasters.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

I have led enterprise-level strategic planning at the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturer, integrating global communications, capital investment, workforce cost modeling, risk management, and execution timelines to deliver next-generation technologies across diverse business units. Through disciplined governance, including weekly performance reviews and cross-functional alignment, I accelerated implementation from six months to six weeks. This initiative was formally recognized for its strategic impact, demonstrating my ability to translate complex strategy into efficient execution and measurable results.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

My financial management experience includes overseeing the procurement of capital equipment valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, with full accountability for adherence to established financial controls and budgetary constraints. Leveraging my MBA training, I developed and implemented cost management systems to support global upgrades to next-generation technologies. These efforts resulted in measurable cost savings while maintaining operational effectiveness, demonstrating my ability to manage financial resources strategically, ensure fiscal discipline, and deliver value-driven outcomes.

What experience do you have in developing procedures?

During my most recent project with the California State Government’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) division, I led the development of comprehensive operational procedures to support a new system implementation. This work required a thorough analysis of existing workflows, alignment with stakeholder requirements, and incorporation of future-state process improvements. The project culminated in the delivery of structured procedural manuals for both the Service Desk and agency teams, providing clear guidance, standardization, and operational continuity. This experience demonstrates my ability to design scalable, Owner-informed processes that enhance efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

Through my leadership experience, I have gained several key insights that shape my approach to leading teams. First, I recognize that organizational change is inherently challenging and requires intentional communication, empathy, and support to achieve successful adoption. Second, I have observed that when teams are fully aligned around a shared vision, they can accomplish outcomes that would otherwise seem unattainable—though achieving this level of alignment requires deliberate leadership. Third, demonstrating genuine care and respect for team members fosters trust, engagement, and a willingness to exceed expectations. Finally, I have learned that visible leadership matters; consistent, direct engagement reinforces credibility, strengthens relationships, and ensures that communication is both heard and understood.

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?

I am motivated to serve as a District Director because of my demonstrated strength in leading through change and my desire to contribute meaningfully to Toastmasters’ evolving geographic structure. I am committed to making a measurable impact by partnering with Area Directors and clubs to move beyond sustainability toward sustained excellence and growth. Equally important, I value the opportunity to build lasting relationships, fostering a collaborative and supportive district culture that empowers members to succeed and thrive.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

In my view, the District mission centers on providing strong leadership during the initial phase of geographic realignment, establishing a clear and compelling vision, strengthening district branding, driving club growth, and ensuring effective officer training. To achieve these objectives, I would prioritize responsive and accessible leadership aligned with district needs, ensure Area Directors are well-informed and supported, and actively reinforce the district’s vision and brand at all levels. Additionally, I would promote high-quality officer training, foster accountability, and strategically identify opportunities for new club development. This approach enables sustainable growth, organizational alignment, and a high-performing district culture.
